The following information is compiled by Head Golf Professional Mark Karge, PGA, to offer you insight into the different formats, special features and on-course contests that can be included in your golf tournament at Lost Canyons. Resources: Formats / Scoring / Features Tournament Menus Fill out our Tournament Form Contact Golf Event Sales Tournament & Event Galleries Tournament Formats Best Ball: Each player plays their own ball. Lowest net/gross score(s) per hole is team score. Option to play 1 or 2 best ball per foursome. Scramble: Each player tees off. The team selects the best position to play subsequent shots from and this process is repeated until the ball is holed out. Modified Best Ball: Every player tees off. The team selects the best position to play their second shot from. From the selected position, each player plays his or her own ball until the ball is holed out. The lowest net/gross score(s) per hole is the team score. Individual Medal Play: Each player will play his or her own ball. Players compete against one another. Recommended for groups of 36 or less only. Tournament Scoring - Determining Net Score (if applicable) Callaway: A pre-calculated chart determines the handicap adjustment based on the gross score at the conclusion of the play. This is a very good system to use if ALL player handicap information is not available. This method is the recommended system for tournaments requiring net scoring. Handicap: SCGA or USGA Index is converted to a course handicap. Accurate Index information must be provided well in advance to establish handicaps for each player. This method is not recommended because information is not always reliable and takes a significant amount of additional time, especially when there are last minute player changes. Merchandise: Items selected from the Lost Canyons Golf Shop feature the Lost Canyons Logo. With planning, merchandise such as shirts, caps, balls or towels, may be crested with the tournament logo. Golf Tournament tee gift packages are available with many different vendors. Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates may be purchased for redemption at Lost Canyons Golf Club. Gift Certificates may be used for rounds of golf, golf instruction, or merchandise. Gift Certificates make great prizes for your tournament winners. Rental Clubs: Rental clubs ($40.00 per set) may be reserved for your players. Lost Canyons has a number of Callaway Golf rental sets available for tournaments. Large numbers can be arranged with appropriate notice. Please inform Lost Canyons if you would like to include the use of the rental clubs for your tournament Dress Code / Play Policy Lost Canyons Golf Club is a SOFT spike facility. Please, NO metal spikes. Men: Collared Shirt, Bermuda-length shorts or golf pants. No denim and no tee shirts. Women: Collared Shirt, Bermuda-length shorts, skirts or golf pants. No denim and no tee shirts.
